The Lightning Road

'The music and its performance were the highlight of the evening, the elements that kept the perceptibly high level of audience engagement. The story is about people finding themselves, overcoming fears, learning to trust and engage with others and the music and lyrics consistently convey the modulations and qualities of those sentiments. This was a pleasure to watch.'

'The Lightning Road' is a period musical drama with book, music and lyrics by Flora Leo.

Emmeline Quinn's life has fallen apart since the death of her mother. One night she walks out into the middle of a storm, and when lightning strikes, it will change everything.

Cole Van Buren is running away from his past and desperately looking for something, or someone to renew his faith. When he meets Emmeline, their lives will never be the same again.

This is a story of friendship, courage and hope. The journey of a boy who became a priest and then a soldier, and the girl who gave him something to believe in.
